🧙 The short version
1. Who We Are
Multiplication Wizard is an educational browser game created and operated by Little Shop of Wonders LLC, a Virginia limited liability company.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Multiplication Wizard application accessible at multiplicationwizard.com and any associated pages hosted on that domain.
If you have questions about this policy, please contact us at support@multiplicationwizard.com.
2. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Multiplication Wizard is designed for use by children and complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
What this means in practice:
- No accounts or registrations required
- No email addresses collected from children
- No names transmitted to our servers
- No location data collected
- No device identifiers linked to personal information
- No behavioral tracking or profiling
- No third-party advertising networks
- No social media integrations
- No chat or communication features
Student names entered at login are stored only on the student's own device using browser localStorage. They are never transmitted to us, never stored on any server, and are automatically cleared when the browser's local storage is cleared.
3. What We Store (Device Only)
Multiplication Wizard uses browser localStorage — a standard web technology that stores data locally on your device, similar to a cookie but never transmitted to any server. All data listed below exists only on the device where the app is used.
| What's Stored | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| License key and key type | So you don't have to re-enter your key on every visit | Your device only |
| Buyer name (from license) | Displayed as a watermark in the app | Your device only |
| Activation timestamp | To calculate license expiry | Your device only |
| Student first name (entered at login) | Personalized greeting during play | Your device only |
| Game scores and session history | To display your results after each session | Your device only |
| Device hash (Individual licenses only) | One-way hash to enforce single-device license restriction | Your device only |
How to clear stored data
You can remove all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. In most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached data and cookies. This will require re-entering your license key on next use.
4. License Key Activation
When a license key is activated for the first time, Multiplication Wizard sends an anonymous activation ping to our key tracking system (Google Apps Script). This ping contains:
- The license key itself (so we can track usage per key)
- The key type (family, classroom, etc.)
- A one-way device hash (cannot identify a person — used to distinguish new vs. returning activations)
- A timestamp
- Whether this is a new or returning activation
This data is used solely to detect suspicious key sharing (e.g., a single key activated on hundreds of devices) and to generate anonymous usage reports for our internal business purposes.
5. Email Results Feature
Multiplication Wizard includes an optional "Email My Results" feature that allows students to share their scores with a parent or teacher. This feature does not transmit any data through our servers.
When a student taps "Email My Results," the app opens the student's own email application (such as Gmail or Apple Mail) with a pre-filled message. The email is sent entirely through the student's own email account — we never see, receive, or store the email address or its contents.
This feature is available on Family Basic, Family Lifetime, Classroom Standard, and Tutor Plan licenses. It is not available on Individual licenses.
6. Google Fonts
Multiplication Wizard loads fonts (Nunito and Fredoka One) from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This is the only external network request the application makes during normal use.
When your browser loads these fonts, Google may receive your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. We do not control Google's data practices. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Fonts does not use cookies and does not track users across websites for advertising purposes. Font files are cached by your browser after the first load.
7. Purchases and Payment Information
License keys for Multiplication Wizard are sold through our Shopify store at multiplicationwizard.com. Payment processing is handled by Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe).
When you make a purchase, your payment information (credit card details, billing address) is processed directly by Shopify/Stripe. Little Shop of Wonders never sees or stores your full payment card details.
We receive order information (your name, email address, and the product purchased) from Shopify so we can fulfill your order and provide customer support. This information is stored in our Shopify account and may be used to send you transactional emails (order confirmations, license key delivery).
We use Klaviyo for email marketing. If you opt in to marketing emails at checkout, your email address will be stored in Klaviyo and used to send you product updates, new release announcements, and renewal reminders. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
8. No Advertising or Tracking
Multiplication Wizard contains no advertising of any kind. We do not:
- Run ads inside the application
- Use advertising networks or ad tracking pixels
- Sell or share user data with advertisers
- Use Google Analytics or similar tracking tools inside the game
- Track users across websites
- Build behavioral profiles of users or students
Our business model is based entirely on license key sales — not advertising revenue. Your privacy is not a product we sell.
9. Data Security
Because Multiplication Wizard stores all game data locally on your device and does not transmit personal information to our servers, the attack surface for a data breach is minimal.
Our website (multiplicationwizard.com) is served over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption) at all times. License key purchase transactions are protected by Shopify's enterprise-grade security infrastructure.
We encourage users to keep their devices and browsers updated to the latest versions for optimal security.
10. Your Rights
Because we collect minimal personal information, there is very little data for us to provide, correct, or delete. However:
If you are a parent or guardian:
You may contact us at any time to ask what information (if any) we hold about your child, request its deletion, or ask questions about our data practices. Since student data is stored locally on the device and never transmitted to us, we typically hold no personal information about children.
If you are a customer (purchaser of a license):
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you (name, email, purchase history) or request its deletion by contacting us at support@multiplicationwizard.com. Note that deleting your purchase records may affect your ability to receive support for your license.
California residents (CCPA):
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.
European residents (GDPR):
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, port, and erase your data, as well as the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Our legal basis for processing purchase-related data is contract performance. Contact us to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify active license holders by email.
Continued use of Multiplication Wizard after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
